Manuša
Traditional Roma music with modern elements
jazz, folk and world music
The musical group Manuša (People) consists of professional musicians, the initiator of the whole project is the Slovak singer Júlia Kozáková. Ľubomír Gašpar plays the dulcimer, Viliam Didiáš plays the violin, Vojtech Bélu Botoš plays the viola and Ján Rigo plays the double bass.
With the support of the Fund for the Promotion of National Minority Culture of the Slovak Republic and the Bratislava Self-Governing Region, they released an eponymous album in 2022. The ten tracks consist of traditional Roma songs in original arrangements by the band members, supplemented by elements of Hungarian Roma music.
